This policy explains what personal information Artists & Algorithms, Inc (“we”, “us”) collects through
artandal.com and through CSF Publisher, our internal application for publishing our own video content to YouTube and other platforms. It also explains how we use that information, how long we keep it, and how you can control it.
Artists & Algorithms is a production studio. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected]
CSF Publisher uses YouTube API Services. It is used only by Artists & Algorithms staff to manage YouTube channels that we own or operate, such as The Bureau of Obvious Things. It is not offered to the public, and we do not use it to access anyone else’s channel or account.
By connecting a YouTube channel to CSF Publisher, the person connecting it agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
When a channel is connected, CSF Publisher requests these permissions from Google:
| Permission | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Upload YouTube videos | To upload our finished episodes and short videos to our channel. |
| Manage your YouTube account | To set video thumbnails and add videos to our playlists. |
| See, edit and permanently delete your YouTube videos, ratings, comments and captions | To upload caption files for our videos. We do not read, edit or delete comments or ratings. |
| View YouTube Analytics reports | To read view, watch-time and audience-retention figures for our own videos, so we can plan future episodes. |
| View monetary and non-monetary YouTube Analytics reports | To record the estimated revenue of our own videos in our accounts. |
Data we access and store from Google:
How we use it: only to publish and measure our own content. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties. The only exceptions are service providers that host our systems under confidentiality obligations, and disclosures required by law.
How long we keep it:
Revoking access: the channel owner can withdraw CSF Publisher’s access at any time through Google’s security settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
After access is revoked, CSF Publisher can no longer reach the channel.
The CSF Publisher application uses a strictly necessary, secure session cookie to keep staff signed in. artandal.com may set analytics cookies as described in section 3. You can block or delete cookies in your browser
settings.
We protect data with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest for credentials, access limited to authorized staff, and systems hosted on our own private infrastructure.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days. Deletion requests for data received through YouTube API Services are completed within 7 days.
artandal.com and CSF Publisher are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
